The BPM meter is a small box measuring the beats per minute of music. The beats per minute determine the tempo of music and are usually within 80 to 170 bpm. The device is hooked between the audio source and the speaker. The Arduino inside the box picks up the audio signal and filters out the base drum. From this base drum the beats per minute are calculated and displayed on a seven segment display in real time. This device can be used to measure the bpm of music or for a DJ set to display the bpm to the audience. It can be combined with the light system of a party to automate the lights to the sound or to display changes in the tempo of the music.
